What is the future of Nashville? Nashville has obviously undergone major changes: an increase in the population, new development, re-development, and much more. We can see the changes everyday: You can not drive down the street without seeing cranes everywhere you look or a bulldozer knocking another building down. When you try to decide where to go out to dinner – you almost have too many amazing options of new places to dine. And obviously: TRAFFIC, TRAFFIC, and MORE TRAFFIC.
The questions then becomes: what does the future have to hold? Can we keep up? What will the Nashville skyline look like in a few years? What opportunities will become available? And what challenges do we need to prepare for?
The guys from lawnstarter.com sent me over this infographic to showcase the projected changes Nashville with see now till 2025.
These projections are from the changes starting in 2010 going to 2025 – so we have already experienced some of these changes. There is a projected 38% increase in the population to almost two and a half million people. Due to this increase in population, we will see a lot of things change. There is already a push for public transportation with debate over what that will look like. There will also need to be discussions on housing – as more people move in many people will be pushed out of their homes due to higher rents/re-development of neighborhoods. So as a community we need to address how we handle this growth: with changes comes both challenges and opportunities.
What do you think about this projection? Where do you see Nashville in 2025?
Whatever the future of Nashville holds – as long as we all stand together as a community and work together – we are sure it will be amazing.
